In Solar Hive, the calcified remains of a Cholla cactus skeleton are re-contextualized as a cosmic containment vessel. By isolating the intricate lattice structure of the wood fibers, the artist creates a sense of immense, alien scale. The cool, bone-like outer shell—sharpened to reveal every strand of its natural masonry—stands in stark opposition to the warm, volatile energy radiating from within. The image captures the tension between rigid structure and fluid light, challenging the viewer to decide if they are looking at a microscopic fossil or a Dyson sphere harnessing the power of a star.
